The Millaa Millaa Falls is a plunge waterfall near the town of Millaa Millaa – the ‘Village in the Mist’. It is the gateway to the southern part of the Atherton Tablelands. Late in the afternoon you may see a platypus or Ulysses butterfly enjoying this popular picnic spot. It is part of a waterfall circuit that encompasses Zillie and Ellinjaa Falls. Ten kilometres from Millaa Millaa, along the Palmerston Highway towards Ravenshoe, we find the Pepina Falls. Towards Innisfail at Junction Road, we can follow the signs left to Mungalli Falls – the highest waterfall on the Tablelands. The road continues to Wooroonooran National Park, home to Tcaupala and Nandroya Falls.

Millaa Millaa is an Aboriginal phrase meaning plenty of water or waterfall.
